One of my self ordained tasks is keeping apprised of industry industry insights which need `1`I got very distressed this morning, reading a post in the Forbes Magazine about the future of publishing! Although the contributing author, Nick Morgan, was in my court trying to debunk some of the publishing myths, i.e., anyone can be an author, his slant was more on the side of painting a very bleak picture of the industry, followed up by a sales pitch for a book written by one of his friends. Not cool! I concur that the statistics support somewhere between 600,000 and 1,000,000 books published every year in the US alone, and that many self-published books do not “stand out.” However, stating that “No one cares about your book” is taking the scare tactics a bit too...
